Inter Milan wing-back Federico Dimarco has terminated his relationship with Roc Nation, according to reports in Italy. The decision stems from stalled contract renewal negotiations with the Nerazzurri, despite the club holding an option to extend his current deal until 2028.
Dimarco reportedly hoped to secure a long-term contract, potentially extending to 2030 or 2031, with a salary increase to match the levels of teammates Nicolò Barella and Alessandro Bastoni. Currently, Dimarco earns approximately two million euros less per season than those players. Inter have not yet initiated talks to extend his contract beyond the existing option, contributing to the player’s decision to change representation.
Arturo Canales will now take over handling Dimarco’s contract negotiations, but a significant breakdown in relations appears unlikely given the player’s strong ties to the club. The situation is further complicated by an ongoing investigation involving Dimarco’s name, following statements made by former Inter curva leader Marco Ferdico.
Ferdico, as part of his testimony, alleged connections between Inter players and organized crime groups. He specifically named Dimarco, alongside Hakan Calhanoglu, as having links to curva leaders. Calhanoglu recently received a one-match ban and a 30,000 euro fine for similar interactions, setting a potential precedent for disciplinary action. Ferdico claimed that an employee of Roc Nation acted as an intermediary in offering gifts to curva groups on behalf of Dimarco.
According to Ferdico’s account, Andrea Opi, Dimarco’s former manager at Roc Nation, discussed gifting rings to members of the curva, and Dimarco expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the chants dedicated to him compared to those for Calhanoglu. These revelations have also impacted a separate investigation into a homicide case, with Ferdico alleging that Inter ultra Mauro Nepi initially proposed the idea of the killing and discussed a potential price.
This latest development adds another layer of complexity to Dimarco’s situation at Inter, as he awaits clarity on the legal proceedings while simultaneously navigating contract renewal talks under new representation. The club was also fined for objective responsibility in the Calhanoglu case, potentially influencing their approach to similar situations.
