Borussia Dortmund have reached a basic agreement with the representatives of Club Brugge striker Nicolò Tresoldi, according to reports in Italy. The German club are yet to begin negotiations with Brugge themselves, but have established preliminary terms with the player’s camp.
Tresoldi, a German U-21 international, has been a standout performer for Club Brugge since joining from Hannover 96. In 58 appearances for the Belgian side, the 23-year-old has scored 23 goals and provided 9 assists, attracting attention from several European clubs. His form initially appeared likely to lead to a transfer to Serie A side AS Roma, but the Italian club are currently prioritizing other targets.
Corriere dello Sport reports that Atlético Madrid have also agreed to the financial parameters of a potential contract with Tresoldi, presenting Dortmund with competition for his signature. However, Dortmund’s interest is contingent on the potential departure of current forward Serhou Guirassy. The 30-year-old Guirassy has been linked with a move to Fenerbahce, and should he leave, Dortmund are keen to have a replacement lined up.
Dortmund have reportedly been monitoring Tresoldi for some time, recognising his potential as a dynamic attacking option. The club are also considering other forward targets, including Fisnik Asllani of TSG Hoffenheim and Paris Saint-Germain’s Randal Kolo Muani, as alternatives. The situation remains fluid, with Dortmund awaiting clarity on Guirassy’s future before progressing with a formal offer for Tresoldi.
The potential arrival of Tresoldi would provide Dortmund with a young, promising striker capable of contributing goals and assists. It would also demonstrate the club’s continued commitment to developing emerging talent, a strategy that has underpinned their recent success.
