Radu Dragusin is set to rejoin the Serie A, with Fiorentina agreeing a deal to sign the defender from Tottenham Hotspur. The transfer will see the club pay a total of €19.3 million for the Romanian international, securing his services until 2031, according to reports in Italy.
Dragusin initially came through the Juventus youth system before moving to Roma and then to Tottenham in January 2024. However, he struggled to establish himself as a regular starter in North London, making only a handful of appearances for the Premier League side. This move offers him the chance to return to a league where he is familiar and potentially gain more consistent playing time.
Fiorentina have been in the market for a central defender following injuries within their squad, and Dragusin fits the profile they were looking for. The club is also reportedly close to securing deals for Burnley’s Koleosho for €10 million plus €1 million in bonuses, and Sassuolo’s Thorstvedt. They are also considering options to replace departing players such as Fazzini, Amatucci, and Piccoli.
Elsewhere in Serie A, Genoa are nearing the acquisition of Elliot Stroud from Mjallby for €2.2 million, with a three-year contract and an option for a further season. They are also pursuing Junior Traore from Marseille on an initial loan deal with an obligation to buy under certain conditions. Frosinone are bolstering their squad with returning loanees Fini from Genoa and Fiori from Mantova, as well as Raimondo on loan from Bologna.
Lazio are set to lose Romagnoli to Al Sadd, who will pay the player €6 million per season, and are targeting Dominguez from Dinamo Zagreb as a replacement. Liberali is also poised to join Como after activating his release clause from Catanzaro, signing a contract until 2031. Napoli are progressing with contract extensions for Di Lorenzo and Vergara, while Fenerbahce and Besiktas have expressed interest in Romelu Lukaku.
