The agent of Tottenham Hotspur defender Radu Dragusin has confirmed he will travel to England for talks next week, amid ongoing speculation linking his client with a return to Serie A. According to comments made to Digi Sport, Florin Manea stated that while no formal discussions have taken place with any club, including Juventus and Fiorentina, he plans to meet with Dragusin soon to assess the player's future. The 24-year-old centre-back, who joined Spurs from Genoa for £21.5 million in 2024, has reportedly made saving Tottenham from relegation his immediate priority.
Dragusin's limited impact in North London has fuelled the transfer rumours. He has made just nine Premier League appearances this season, only six of which were starts, with injuries and competition for places restricting his involvement. His situation has been further complicated by the managerial change, having played only one minute since Roberto de Zerbi's appointment. Tottenham's precarious league position, sitting 18th and two points from safety, has led to widespread speculation about a potential summer squad overhaul, with many players' futures uncertain.
Manea moved to dampen immediate speculation, telling the Romanian outlet that Dragusin has not requested a move and that conversations about his future will wait until the season concludes. "Radu didn’t ask me for anything," Manea said. "I said we won’t talk until the end of the championship; he’s focused on saving Tottenham." He added, "If someone calls me, you’ll realise I’m talking, but I haven’t been contacted, I’m telling you the truth." The planned meeting suggests a review of options is imminent once Tottenham's fate is decided.
The context of a potential defensive exodus at Tottenham adds significance to Dragusin's situation. According to separate reports, fellow centre-backs Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven could both depart this summer. Spurs are reportedly ready to listen to offers around £60 million for the injured Romero, a target for Atletico Madrid, while Van de Ven is said to have no intention of signing a new contract and is attracting interest from Chelsea, Liverpool, and Manchester United. This potential upheaval could influence Dragusin's role and willingness to stay.
For Dragusin, a move could offer the regular first-team football he has struggled to secure in England, potentially reviving a career that saw him become Romania's most expensive player. For Tottenham, retaining a player of his potential could be crucial if they face a rebuild, especially under financial constraints that may follow relegation. His commitment to the survival fight provides a temporary respite, but the upcoming talks with his agent will be pivotal in determining whether his long-term future remains in the Premier League.
