Arsenal have emerged as frontrunners to sign Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye, with the player publicly stating his desire to compete in the Champions League. The news comes as Chelsea’s pursuit of the Senegal international appears to be hampered by their lack of European qualification.
Ndiaye contributed nine goal involvements in 32 Premier League appearances for Everton last season, establishing himself as a key player for David Moyes’ side. His performances have attracted interest from multiple top-flight clubs, with Arsenal and Chelsea consistently linked with a move. Everton are reportedly seeking a fee in the region of €80 million for the 26-year-old, despite his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) being listed at €52.2 million.
Speaking to SPORTbible ahead of Senegal’s World Cup match against France, Ndiaye emphasized his ambition to play at the highest level. “You don't know where football will take you next,” he said. “As I've always said, I want to be the best player and to do that, you have to play at the top. I want to be playing at the top level. I want to be playing Champions League football.”
Chelsea, who finished 10th in the Premier League and failed to qualify for European competition, may find it difficult to convince Ndiaye to move to Stamford Bridge. The Blues have identified Ndiaye as a potential alternative to Morgan Rogers, but his Champions League ambition could prove decisive. According to reports in The Daily Mail, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal are closely monitoring the situation as they search for a new left winger, with Manchester City and Manchester United also showing interest.
Arsenal are also pursuing a deal for Morgan Rogers, but a move for Ndiaye could be initiated if Aston Villa are unwilling to sell the England international. FootballTransfers reports that Ndiaye’s profile aligns with Arsenal’s need for pace and flair on the left wing, potentially offering a viable alternative to Leandro Trossard. While Ndiaye scored only six Premier League goals last season, his overall contribution and dynamic play have significantly improved since joining Everton, making him an attractive option for Arteta’s squad. A successful transfer would strengthen Arsenal’s attacking options and provide competition for places in the forward line.
