Arsenal are reportedly pursuing a deal for Brentford striker Igor Thiago, with the potential transfer fee reaching €115 million. The news comes as manager Mikel Arteta seeks to bolster his attacking options ahead of the 2026-27 season, identifying the number nine position as a priority. Thiago, a Brazil international, enjoyed a prolific campaign with Brentford, scoring 22 Premier League goals under Keith Andrews.
The Gunners hierarchy are said to highly rate Thiago, and are prepared to make a significant investment to secure his services when the summer transfer window opens. The forward has also been selected for the upcoming 2026 World Cup, further highlighting his international credentials. Currently valued at €28.8 million, his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) ranges from €25.9 million to €31.6 million.
Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers is “expected” to leave the club this summer, with Arsenal and Chelsea both expressing strong interest. Unai Emery’s side are looking to comply with financial regulations, and selling Rogers would alleviate some of those pressures. Arsenal sporting director Andrea Berta is known to be a keen admirer of the England attacker, and the club has already undertaken groundwork for a potential deal. Other clubs, including Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain, are also monitoring the situation.
Chelsea are also considering an approach for West Ham United captain Jarrod Bowen, as new manager Xabi Alonso looks to strengthen his attacking options. West Ham value Bowen at approximately €58 million, but Chelsea are reportedly confident of negotiating a fee closer to €46 million, potentially due to West Ham’s recent relegation. Bayern Munich have also entered the fray for Bournemouth’s teenage sensation Eli Junior Kroupi, who scored 13 goals this season, presenting competition to Arsenal and Chelsea.
In a potentially challenging development for Arsenal, Real Madrid officials are reportedly urging president Florentino Perez to consider a move for Gunners midfielder Declan Rice. Rice joined Arsenal in 2023 for a fee of €116.6 million and is expected to remain with the club, having expressed no desire to leave. However, the interest from Real Madrid underscores his value in the current market.
