Paris Saint-Germain’s potential interest in Juventus forward Jonathan David is gaining traction, fueled by a connection to sporting director Luis Campos and the possibility of a deal involving Randal Kolo Muani, according to a report from Milan-based publication. While David’s recent form with Juventus has been underwhelming, the move is being considered by all parties involved.
David, 26, joined Juventus hoping to establish himself as a key attacking threat, but has struggled to replicate the goalscoring form he displayed previously. He has scored just eight goals in 2329 minutes played for the club. However, Campos, who previously oversaw David’s transfer to Lille from Gent in 2020, remains a firm believer in the Canadian’s potential. Campos was instrumental in bringing David to Lille for a fee of nearly 30 million euros, recognizing his talent after a breakout season in Belgium where he scored 18 league goals at the age of 20.
The report highlights David’s strong pedigree in Ligue 1, where he flourished under Campos’ guidance at Lille, scoring 78 goals in three seasons. His technical ability and comfort playing a ground-based game are seen as a good fit for PSG’s style of play, offering a reliable option in domestic matches while allowing PSG’s younger stars to conserve energy for Champions League commitments. PSG’s willingness to invest in David is also attributed to his relatively affordable price tag, given the club’s financial resources.
A key factor driving the potential transfer is PSG’s desire to monetize Randal Kolo Muani, who they signed for 75 million euros plus bonuses from Eintracht Frankfurt. Kolo Muani is reportedly keen on a move to Juventus, and including David in the deal could facilitate the transfer. David’s arrival at Juventus on a free transfer means his sale would not result in a financial loss for the Italian club, and would potentially allow him to rediscover his form ahead of international duty. The combination of these factors suggests a move for David to PSG is increasingly plausible, despite his struggles in Serie A.
