Juventus have confirmed the permanent transfer of young full-back Jacopo Contarini to Serie A rivals Hellas Verona. The move was announced by the club on Tuesday, bringing an end to Contarini’s four-year spell in Turin.
Contarini, a left-sided defender born in 2007, joined Juventus’ youth setup in 2021 and progressed through the club’s academy. He featured regularly for Juventus’ Under 20 side last season, making a total of 18 appearances. Despite showing promise within the youth ranks, the player was not integrated into the first team plans at the Allianz Stadium.
The transfer represents an opportunity for Contarini to gain more consistent first-team football, something that would have been difficult to achieve at Juventus given the competition for places. Verona will be hoping the young Italian can develop into a reliable option at left-back. Financial details of the transfer were not disclosed by either club.
In a separate announcement, Juventus also confirmed a contract extension for goalkeeper Matteo Fuscaldo. The 2005-born shot-stopper has signed a new deal that will keep him at the club until June 30, 2027. Fuscaldo has risen through the Juventus academy and made his debut for the Juventus Next Gen team, the club’s reserve side, in January 2026 against Carpi. The extension signifies the club’s faith in his potential and provides stability to their goalkeeping options at the youth level.
These moves highlight Juventus’ continued focus on developing young talent and strengthening their academy system. While the first team has been active in the transfer market with more established players, the club is also investing in the future by securing promising prospects like Fuscaldo and allowing others, like Contarini, to pursue opportunities for regular playing time elsewhere.
