AS Monaco have reached an agreement with Cercle Bruges for the permanent transfer of left-back Nazinho, according to L’Équipe. The deal is reportedly worth €5 million and is subject to the player completing a medical examination. Nazinho, who turns 23 on July 20th, is expected to join the Ligue 1 club imminently.
Monaco also had to reach an agreement with Sporting Portugal, Nazinho’s formative club, who retained options from his previous move to Belgium in the summer of 2024. The Principality club successfully negotiated with Sporting to secure the player’s full transfer. Nazinho was reportedly attracted by the prospect of joining Monaco, indicating a willingness to move to the French league.
Nazinho established himself as one of the top performers in the Belgian Championship at his position this season. He provides competition for Kassoum Ouattara at left-back, and his arrival could facilitate an exit for Caio Henrique, who is currently under contract with Monaco until June 2027. The club are reportedly looking for solutions to move Henrique on this summer.
Nazinho joined Cercle Bruges following a period in Sporting Portugal’s youth system, and quickly became a key player for the Belgian side. He consistently featured in the starting eleven, showcasing his defensive capabilities and attacking contributions. This move to Monaco represents a step up in competition and a chance to play in a major European league. The transfer aligns with Monaco’s strategy of investing in young, promising talent to bolster their squad, as evidenced by the earlier agreement to loan Mathys Detourbet from Manchester City. This signing strengthens Monaco’s defensive options ahead of the upcoming season and provides tactical flexibility for head coach Adi Hütter.
