West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes is prioritizing a transfer to Manchester United, according to Shaun Connolly. While Real Madrid, under new manager Jose Mourinho, admire the Portugal international, Fernandes is not currently a priority for the Spanish club, making a move to Old Trafford the most likely outcome. United are continuing negotiations with West Ham to agree on a fee, with the London club reportedly seeking over €90 million for the player.
Manchester United have officially confirmed the departures of Jadon Sancho, Casemiro, and Tyrell Malacia upon the expiration of their contracts this summer. The club originally invested a combined €170 million in the trio across two transfer windows, but they will now leave without generating a transfer fee. Sancho and Malacia had limited roles in recent seasons, with Sancho falling out of favour under Erik ten Hag and spending time on loan at Aston Villa, while Malacia was sidelined for over a year with an injury.
Casemiro’s departure is perhaps the most surprising, as the Brazilian midfielder was a popular figure among fans and teammates, with many hoping he would extend his stay. However, he is expected to join Lionel Messi at Inter Miami.
Marcus Rashford will return to Manchester United after Barcelona decided against activating their €30 million buy option. MARCA reports that Barcelona attempted to renegotiate the fee or extend the loan, but United held firm on the original price, despite Rashford’s desire to remain in Catalonia. A future attempt to sign Rashford permanently has not been ruled out by the Spanish club.
United are also exploring a potential deal for Leeds goalkeeper Karl Darlow, as reported by talkSPORT. The 35-year-old’s contract with Leeds is expiring, allowing him to move on a free transfer. Darlow would serve as a backup to Senne Lammens, with Altay Bayindir and Andre Onana potentially being sold. Should the transfer be completed, Darlow would be the first player to move directly from Leeds to Manchester United in 22 years.
Sky Sports reports that Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo and Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru have emerged as potential targets for United. Fernandez-Pardo, a 21-year-old Belgium international, has also attracted interest from Liverpool. Any attacking signing is contingent on the departure of Joshua Zirkzee. Dele-Bashiru, 25, is open to a move to the Premier League but is not actively pushing to leave Lazio.
