Fiorentina are experiencing a period of significant activity in the transfer market under the direction of Fabio Paratici, with the club already spending around €80 million as they aim to rebuild following a challenging season and honor their centenary year. The influx of new players is generating optimism among supporters, particularly with the Commisso family signaling their commitment to the club following the passing of president Rocco Commisso.
One of the latest arrivals is right-back Alex Jimenez, who joins on loan from Bournemouth with a €20 million option to buy. The deal includes a clause where Fiorentina could reduce a potential 30% future sell-on percentage to Bournemouth to 10% if Jimenez makes 30 appearances. Paratici has employed similar structured deals for other signings, including Arthur Atta from Udinese, who arrived for an initial €25 million plus a 30% future sell-on percentage, also potentially reducible to 10%. These financial strategies allow the club to make substantial investments while maintaining economic sustainability.
In addition to Jimenez and Atta, the Viola have secured the services of Brazilian left-back Viery from Gremio for €17 million, and Romanian centre-back Radu Dragusin, whose loan will become a mandatory purchase for €19 million plus a 10% future sell-on percentage. These new signings will immediately join Fabio Grosso’s squad at the start of their pre-season training camp, with Jimenez currently awaiting transfer clearance before officially joining the group.
The club has also made decisions regarding players no longer in their plans, notably excluding Robin Gosens from the squad list. Paratici is now pursuing alternatives, with a strong interest in left-back Oso from Sevilla, though negotiations are ongoing over a fee, with Fiorentina offering €10 million to Sevilla’s asking price of €15 million. Victor Valdepenas is another target for that position, with the player reportedly keen on a move to Florence, and the clubs discussing a deal around €7-8 million plus a 50% future sell-on percentage. There are also reports linking Fiorentina with Trabzonspor midfielder Oulai, though the club is downplaying the speculation.
Moise Kean has returned to the club after a spell out injured, and his future remains uncertain. A €62 million release clause is set to expire, and Kean will need to demonstrate his fitness and commitment to manager Grosso. His market value could potentially increase after the clause expires. The team will begin training at the Viola Park with a series of friendlies scheduled before a pre-season tour to London and Austria, culminating in a high-profile match against Real Madrid on August 1st.
