Davide Frattesi is poised to depart Inter Milan after a season where he struggled for consistent playing time, according to reports from Italy. The 26-year-old midfielder is attracting interest from both the Premier League and Serie A, with Roma emerging as a strong contender.
Inter have been in discussions with Roma regarding a potential swap deal involving Frattesi and Manu Koné, a player the Roman club are keen to acquire. The Nerazzurri also explored the possibility of including Evan Ndicka in the negotiations, initially considering him as a potential replacement for Alessandro Bastoni should the defender move to Barcelona. Ndicka, valued at €30 million, was seen as a viable option to bolster Inter’s three-man defense.
However, the interest in Ndicka has cooled as Bastoni’s desire to remain at Inter has strengthened, and Barcelona’s pursuit has subsided. Inter valued Frattesi at approximately €25 million, a figure that appealed more to Roma’s ownership group than other Italian clubs, such as Atalanta, who were not considered in a separate deal for midfielder Teun Koopmeiners.
Frattesi has already bid farewell to his teammates at Inter, bringing an end to his 122-game spell with the club where he secured four titles. He was previously linked with a move to Nottingham Forest in January, but a transfer during the mid-season window was deemed unsuitable. The possibility of a move to the Premier League remains open, but Roma currently appears to be the frontrunner for his signature. Roma are under pressure to generate €60 million in player sales before June 30th, which could further incentivize a deal for Frattesi.
