Davide Frattesi is poised to depart Inter, with Roma emerging as a strong potential destination according to reports. The 26-year-old midfielder has seen limited playing time recently, prompting his desire for a new project and increased minutes elsewhere.
Frattesi’s departure has been anticipated for several transfer windows, with Nottingham Forest previously expressing interest in January. However, a mid-season move did not materialize. Now, Nottingham Forest are reportedly renewing their interest, but Roma is also in contention, offering a potential pathway to acquiring Manu Koné.
Discussions between Inter and Roma have extended beyond Koné to include Evan Ndicka, a 30 million euro-valued central defender. Ndicka was considered as a potential replacement for Alessandro Bastoni should he have moved to Barcelona, but with Bastoni now seemingly committed to Inter, the need for a central defensive replacement has diminished. Inter reportedly valued Frattesi at 25 million euros in potential negotiations with Roma, a figure that was more appealing to the Friedkin family than offers from other Italian clubs such as Atalanta.
While the Ndicka deal appears to be on hold for the time being, the possibility remains open if Bastoni’s situation changes and a significant offer from a European powerhouse arrives. Roma is under pressure to generate 60 million euros in player sales by June 30th, which could further incentivize a deal for Frattesi. Frattesi has already bid farewell to his teammates at Inter, bringing an end to his 122-game spell with the club, during which he won four titles. The transfer could benefit both clubs, with Inter freeing up funds and potentially securing a valuable asset in Koné or Ndicka, while Frattesi gains the opportunity for more regular first-team football.
