Barcelona have made the most significant move of the day, securing the services of Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon for a reported €80 million. The transfer window is officially open for Premier League clubs, though no deals have been completed in England as of today, June 25th. Several other top European clubs have been active, with Real Madrid completing a series of moves to bolster their squad ahead of next season.
Real Madrid have agreed to pay €55 million for Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella. In addition to the Cucurella deal, Los Blancos have also finalised free transfers for Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva and Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate. They are also reportedly close to an agreement for Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries and are monitoring the situation of Chelsea’s Enzo Fernandez. These moves signal Real Madrid’s intent to refresh their squad after a season of mixed results.
Tottenham Hotspur have also been busy, signing Jan Paul van Hecke from Brighton & Hove Albion for €60 million. Further strengthening their squad, Spurs have added Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi, and Martin Dubravka on free transfers from Liverpool, Bournemouth, and Burnley respectively. The club is also pursuing Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes as they aim to improve upon consecutive 17th-place finishes in the Premier League.
Liverpool have moved to replace Konate, bringing in Stade Rennais’ Jeremy Jacquet for €63.6 million, a deal agreed during the winter transfer window. Chelsea are preparing for a busy summer, with pre-agreements in place for Geovany Quenda, Denner, Dastan Satpaev, and Emmanuel Emegha. Leeds United are nearing the signing of Harry Wilson from Fulham on a free transfer, while Manchester City are reportedly keen on acquiring Elliot Anderson from Nottingham Forest.
Several high-profile players, including Mohamed Salah, John Stones, and Robert Lewandowski, are available on free transfers this summer. Julian Alvarez and Morgan Rogers are expected to be the subject of bids exceeding €100 million. Elsewhere, Noah Darvich has joined Elversberg on loan from Stuttgart, and Edhy Zuliani has moved from Toulouse to VVV-Venlo for an undisclosed fee.
