Chelsea are poised to make a substantial offer for RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, reportedly valuing the Ivory Coast international at €100 million. The Chelsea Chronicle reports that Xabi Alonso’s side are preparing to test Leipzig’s resolve, though the German club is believed to be holding out for a fee of €120 million. It is understood that Diomande himself prefers a move to Paris Saint-Germain, potentially complicating Chelsea’s pursuit.
Diomande, who plays as a forward or midfielder, has been a key player for Leipzig, with his current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) listed between €33.1 million and €40.4 million. While Chelsea’s offer significantly exceeds this valuation, the player’s preference for PSG casts doubt on the likelihood of a deal.
In separate news, Chelsea academy defender Kaiden Wilson has joined League Two side Rochdale on loan following their recent promotion. The 20-year-old made 25 appearances for Chelsea’s U21 team last season and expressed his excitement about the opportunity to gain first-team experience. Wilson stated that he believes this is the right time in his career to take the next step and is eager to integrate with his new teammates.
Chelsea also missed out on retaining the services of Jarrod Bowen, who has signed a new contract with West Ham United despite the club’s relegation to the Championship. Bowen, a long-time Chelsea target, has committed his future to West Ham and intends to play a leading role in their attempt to secure promotion back to the Premier League. The Athletic reports that the contract is not an extension, but confirms Bowen’s commitment for the upcoming season.
Former Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior has also spoken publicly for the first time since his departure from Stamford Bridge, now managing Paris FC. Rosenior acknowledged lessons learned during his brief tenure at Chelsea, stating he takes accountability for aspects he could have handled better, while also highlighting positive contributions. He expressed optimism about Xabi Alonso’s leadership at Chelsea and hopes to emulate their success at Paris FC.
Finally, Mykhailo Mudryk has hinted at a potential return to Chelsea via a cryptic Instagram post, despite currently serving a four-year ban for a doping violation. The post, featuring a training goal, was captioned “Stay tuned…”, sparking speculation among fans. Chris Atherton, a 17-year-old midfielder, has also departed Chelsea, joining Ipswich Town permanently after arriving from Glenavon last summer.
