Chelsea have received a bid of up to €30million (£25.6m) from Serie A side Como for defender Trevoh Chalobah, according to Fabrizio Romano. The offer comprises a fixed fee of €25m (£21.3m) with a further €5m (£4.2m) in achievable add-ons.
Romano reports that Chalobah is interested in the move to Como, who will compete in the UEFA Champions League next season after a successful 2025-26 campaign. Accepting the bid would allow Chelsea to recoup half of the fee they are set to pay for Maxence Lacroix.
Earlier on Friday, BBC Sport reported that Chelsea had agreed a €60m (£52m) fee with Crystal Palace for Lacroix, with the French defender expected to undergo a medical within the next 24 hours and sign a contract extending to 2032. The Blues are reportedly looking to offload several defenders, including Chalobah, Axel Disasi, and Benoit Badiashile, to make space for Lacroix.
Disasi, who spent the previous season on loan at West Ham United, is reportedly attracting interest from Palace, as per The Telegraph. Chalobah’s potential departure follows Inter Milan’s withdrawal of interest, as reported by Corriere dello Sport. The 26-year-old was a consistent performer for Chelsea in a difficult 2025-26 season, making 47 appearances and scoring three goals despite the club finishing 10th in the Premier League and changing managers twice.
Lacroix has been a standout player for Palace since joining from Wolfsburg in August 2024, contributing to their FA Cup, Community Shield, and UEFA Conference League triumphs. His performances earned him a place in France’s squad for the recent World Cup, where he made three appearances including a substitute role in the semi-final defeat to Spain. Chelsea are also pursuing a new midfielder, having had a €75m (£64m) bid for Bournemouth’s Alex Scott rejected.
Scott has been a key figure in Bournemouth’s rise, helping them secure a sixth-place finish and qualification for the UEFA Europa League. The 22-year-old has reportedly turned down contract offers from Bournemouth, who are said to value him around €94m (£80m), and has two years remaining on his current deal.
