Inter Milan are set to receive at least €4 million, plus potential bonuses and a 40% sell-on clause, from the permanent transfer of Sebastiano Esposito to Cagliari. The deal follows Esposito’s successful loan spell with the Rossoblù, where he contributed seven goals and five assists, playing a key role in their Serie A survival.
This income will be added to a base budget of approximately €40 million allocated by Oaktree for the upcoming summer transfer window. Inter’s financial outlook is further boosted by potential savings from players whose contracts are set to expire, including Sommer, Acerbi, De Vrij, Darmian, and Mkhitaryan. While negotiations are ongoing with some of these players, non-renewals could save the club around €14 million in gross wages.
Further funds are anticipated through player sales, with Davide Frattesi and Luis Henrique considered likely departures. Inter reportedly came close to selling Frattesi last summer for around €30 million, and while a similar fee is unlikely this year, a sale in the range of €20-25 million is expected. Henrique, despite featuring regularly, has not fully convinced the club and could be sold after a January transfer attempt from Bournemouth fell through.
Benjamin Pavard is also expected to leave, returning from his loan at Marseille. Inter anticipate receiving around €12 million from his sale, and will also save approximately €5 million net per season in wages. Alessandro Bastoni remains a potential departure, having previously expressed interest in a move to Barcelona, but is now leaning towards staying at the club. Overall, Inter are projecting a transfer budget of between €80-90 million for the summer window, giving Ausilio and Marotta significant resources to reshape the squad.
