The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) has officially confirmed the dates for the 2026-27 transfer windows across the country's professional leagues. According to the federation's announcement, the summer transfer window for Serie A will open on 29 June 2026 and close at 20:00 CET on 1 September 2026. For Serie B and Serie C, the summer window will run from 1 July to 1 September 2026, also closing at 20:00 CET.
The federation also approved the dates for the mid-season winter transfer window, which will be uniform across the top three divisions. Clubs in Serie A, B, and C will be able to conduct business from 2 January 2027 until 1 February 2027, with the deadline again set for 20:00 CET. For the non-professional leagues under the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti (LND), two separate registration periods were established: one from 1 July to 30 September 2026, and a shorter winter window from 1 December to 16 December 2026.
In addition to setting the calendar, the FIGC council approved the procedures, criteria, and deadlines for addressing squad deficiencies in the professional leagues. The structure for filling vacancies will largely mirror the system used in the previous year, with one key update concerning the priority order for call-ups, or 'ripescaggi', into Lega Pro (Serie C). For the 2026-27 season, the established order of priority will be: a new Serie A 'B' team, existing Lega Pro clubs, Serie D clubs, and potentially a Serie A 'B' team already participating in Serie D.
The federation has set a strict deadline of 20 July 2026 for clubs to submit applications for readmission, replacements, and call-ups to fill league vacancies. This process is crucial for maintaining the correct number of teams in each division following any exclusions or financial failures from the preceding season. The confirmation of these administrative frameworks provides clubs with long-term clarity for their sporting and financial planning over the next two years.
The established timeline aligns Italy's transfer market with the broader European schedule, ensuring Serie A clubs can compete effectively in the international market. The decision to maintain a similar structure for squad integration suggests satisfaction with the current mechanisms for maintaining league integrity. These dates now serve as the official roadmap for all transfer activity involving Italian clubs for the 2026-27 campaign.
