Jobe Bellingham has reaffirmed his commitment to Borussia Dortmund, stating he plans to stay at the Bundesliga club for the long term after a season of growing influence. The 19-year-old midfielder, who joined from Sunderland last summer on a contract running until 2030, made the declaration in an interview with Dortmund's official club media, dismissing any speculation of an imminent departure.
Bellingham's first campaign in Germany began with limited opportunities, but he has since become a mainstay in Edin Terzic's side, starting the majority of matches since the turn of the year. He acknowledged the importance of this consistent run for his development, explaining how it has allowed him to find his rhythm within the team's structure. "When you're playing games, you start to feel a better rhythm," Bellingham said. "When young players get to have a run of games in the team, you see them develop."
The England Under-21 international emphasized his personal drive for improvement, stating his daily goal is simply to get better. He identified a specific area for growth, expressing a desire to increase his attacking contributions. "I definitely want to get forward and contribute in the final third more," Bellingham explained. "That's something I tell myself I need to do more." So far this season, he has made 42 appearances across all competitions, registering four assists.
Bellingham's commitment provides stability for Dortmund as they continue to build a young, talented squad. His path mirrors that of his older brother, Jude, who also developed at Signal Iduna Park before his record move to Real Madrid, though Jobe is now carving out his own distinct role. For the player, the settled environment offers the perfect platform to refine his game, particularly his box-to-box capabilities and end product.
The midfielder's comments suggest a clear mutual satisfaction with the transfer, which saw him move from the Championship to one of Europe's most renowned talent hubs. His long-term contract secures a key asset for Dortmund's future projects, while Bellingham gains the consistent top-level football needed to fulfill his potential. His continued progression will be vital for Dortmund's ambitions both domestically and in Europe next season.
