Curtis Jones is seeking a move away from Liverpool, with Inter Milan emerging as his preferred destination, according to reports. The 25-year-old academy graduate believes his time at Anfield is coming to an end as the Italian club actively pursues his signature.
Jones has been a member of Liverpool’s first team since 2019, contributing consistently despite not always being a regular starter. However, with his contract set to expire in twelve months, Liverpool are reportedly open to cashing in on the versatile midfielder, who can also play as a right-back, rather than risk losing him for free.
Inter Milan have already submitted a bid of €20million (£17.3m) for Jones, but Liverpool are holding out for €30million (£26m). Sources suggest the Serie A side are confident Liverpool will compromise on their valuation given Jones’s contractual situation. Aston Villa have also expressed interest, but Jones is said to favour a move to Italy.
Liverpool are simultaneously looking at midfield reinforcements, with Borussia Dortmund’s Felix Nmecha identified as a potential replacement. The 25-year-old Nmecha has impressed for both Dortmund and the German national team, scoring in Germany’s recent 7-1 victory over Curacao. Intermediaries are exploring a deal, and Liverpool have been contacted regarding a potential transfer, alongside several other Premier League clubs including Manchester United, Arsenal, and Chelsea.
Dortmund are reportedly reluctant to sell Nmecha, but a fee of around £52million may be enough to secure his services. The potential arrival of Nmecha would offset the departure of Jones, providing Liverpool with another dynamic option in midfield as they prepare for the upcoming season.
