Juventus have exercised their option to permanently sign Giacomo Faticanti from Lecce, extending the midfielder’s contract with the club until June 30, 2029, the club confirmed in an official statement. Faticanti, a 2004-born regista, arrived in Turin during the summer of 2024 and has since become a key figure in the Juventus Next Gen squad.
During his two seasons with the Next Gen team, Faticanti has amassed 66 appearances, scoring three goals and providing five assists. His consistent growth culminated in a recent call-up and debut for the Italian national team against Greece in a June friendly match under the guidance of coach Alberto Baldini. The move reflects Juventus’ commitment to developing young talent within their system.
Juventus’ official statement praised Faticanti’s progress, congratulating him on his national team debut and expressing their anticipation for his future contributions. The club highlighted his increasing importance within the Next Gen setup and his positive impact on the team’s performance.
Looking ahead, Faticanti faces a decision regarding his immediate future. While a place in the Juventus first team is a long-term ambition, potentially starting with the upcoming pre-season training camp, a loan move to Serie B is also being considered. Avellino are reportedly leading the chase for the young midfielder, having successfully developed another Juventus loanee, Daffara, this past season. A temporary spell in Serie B could provide Faticanti with valuable experience and a higher level of competition to further his development.
