Juventus’s chances of signing Randal Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain have received a significant boost following a profitable sale involving a former player, according to reports in Italy. The Bianconeri are seeking a new central striker ahead of the upcoming season, with manager Luciano Spalletti reportedly keen on acquiring the French forward.
Negotiations with PSG had stalled due to the French club’s valuation of Kolo Muani, reportedly exceeding €45 million. Juventus’s newly appointed director general, Giovanni Carnevali, had indicated to PSG that they would need to lower their demands or Juventus would pursue alternative targets, including Pellegrino of Parma and Balogun of Monaco.
However, a recent transfer involving a player previously at Juventus has provided the Turin club with additional funds. Sassuolo’s sale of defender Amar Muharemovic to Leeds United for €40 million has resulted in a €20 million windfall for Juventus, who retained a 50% sell-on clause in the player’s contract. This clause, inserted during Muharemovic’s transfer from Juventus to Sassuolo, has proven financially beneficial.
This unexpected influx of cash is now expected to allow Carnevali to increase Juventus’s offer for Kolo Muani, potentially exceeding €40 million. Sports betting sites are reflecting this optimism, with Sisal, Snai, and Starcasinò all offering odds of 1.85 on Kolo Muani joining Juventus before the September 1st transfer deadline. The situation arose after previous attempts to renew the contract of Dusan Vlahovic failed under the previous management led by Comolli, prompting the club to actively seek a replacement.
Kolo Muani, who has demonstrated his capabilities on the international stage, would represent a significant addition to Spalletti’s squad. Securing his signature would address a key need in the Juventus attack and provide a focal point for their offensive play. The increased financial flexibility provided by the Muharemovic sale positions Juventus strongly in the negotiations, and a deal appears increasingly likely.
