Juventus are evaluating several midfield options as they look to strengthen their squad, with Franck Kessié emerging as a key target, according to reports in Italy. The Ivorian midfielder recently concluded his spell with Al Ahli and has reportedly expressed interest in a move to Turin.
However, a potential deal hinges on wage demands, as Kessié is seeking a net salary exceeding €5 million per year for a three-year contract, a figure Juventus are currently hesitant to meet. The potential addition of a signing bonus, now commonplace in player agreements, further complicates negotiations, offsetting the benefit of a free transfer.
Juventus are also considering other midfield options, including Leon Goretzka of Bayern Munich. The German international’s representatives have reportedly requested a €10 million signing bonus and a €7 million annual salary. Juventus are reportedly reluctant to meet these demands, citing Goretzka’s age and a perceived decline in his physical condition. This has shifted focus somewhat toward Kessié, who impressed for the Ivory Coast at the recent World Cup.
Napoli’s Stanislav Lobotka and Zambo Anguissa are also under consideration, though Lobotka is tied to a contract with a €25 million release clause for foreign clubs. A potential swap deal involving Juventus defender Federico Gatti and a Napoli midfielder has been suggested, but no concrete progress has been made.
Despite these options, Brahim Diaz of Real Madrid remains Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti’s primary target. However, Diaz is currently unwilling to leave Spain, despite limited playing time at Real Madrid. Juventus are hoping to leverage the existing relationship between Real Madrid and their former sporting director, Massimiliano Allegri, who previously brought Diaz to Milan. The situation surrounding Diaz will become clearer after he returns from international duty with Spain. Juventus are prepared to utilise the good relationship with former Milan director Massara, who oversaw Diaz’s move to the Rossoneri.
