Juventus and Atletico Madrid are in preliminary talks regarding a potential transfer involving Alexander Sorloth, according to reports in Italy. The discussions are not yet formal negotiations, but rather an exploration of possibilities as both clubs assess their options in the current transfer window.
Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti is reportedly keen on adding a physical presence up front, identifying Sorloth as a strong candidate. The Norway international is said to be receptive to a move to Turin, however, the club must wait until the conclusion of the World Cup to finalize any potential deal. The primary obstacle currently lies in reaching an economic agreement with Atletico Madrid.
Atletico are believed to be unwilling to accept more than €20 million for Nico Gonzalez, who is currently on loan at Juventus but does not wish to return to Turin as requested by Spalletti. Juventus, meanwhile, are hoping to lower Atletico’s €35 million valuation of Sorloth. The potential sale of players such as David and Openda would also be necessary to create space in the Juventus squad and free up funds.
Alongside the Sorloth talks, Juventus are also considering a move for Fabiano Parisi, should Andrea Cambiaso depart the club. Cambiaso has attracted interest from Premier League and La Liga clubs, including Chelsea and Barcelona. Juventus could use the funds generated from Cambiaso’s sale to finance a deal for Sorloth, and potentially bring in Parisi as a replacement at left-back. The situation is further complicated by Dusan Vlahovic, who has recently become available and is attracting interest from Spanish clubs including Barcelona and Atletico Madrid. Juventus are actively seeking to finalize a sale to generate revenue and reshape their attacking options.
Juventus are aiming to concretize a sale in the coming weeks to facilitate further movement in the transfer market.
