Juventus and Inter Milan are both showing interest in Udinese centre-back Jean-Victor Solet, according to reports in Italy. Representatives from both clubs met with Udinese officials yesterday, with Solet being a central topic of discussion alongside other players including Kristensen and Atta.
Juventus, led by new sporting director Giovanni Massara, are prioritizing squad trimming and player sales this summer, with meetings planned with Genoa and Parma to explore potential departures. The focus for Juventus is creating space within the squad and assessing opportunities for both incomings and outgoings.
Inter had previously shown strong interest in Solet but reportedly withdrew due to concerns about the player’s consistency and the asking price of at least €30 million. Ausilio, Inter’s sporting director, deemed the cost too high for the potential return. Juventus are also exploring other defensive options, including Jhon Lucumí of Bologna, who has a release clause of €28 million, prompting an immediate response from Inter.
Lucumí, recently eliminated from the World Cup, is now considering his options, and Inter have launched an offensive for his signature. This pursuit of central defenders, particularly left-footed ones, is a common theme across Serie A, with clubs operating within a similar price range.
Beyond Solet and Lucumí, potential player swaps are also being considered. Juventus are looking for a buyer for Andrea Cambiaso, a player admired by Inter coach Luciano Spalletti, while Inter are seeking a club for Davide Frattesi, a player who has previously attracted Juventus’s interest. Both clubs will need to align on valuations and intentions to finalize any such deals. Juventus’s primary aim is to raise the overall quality of the squad, even by looking at potential opportunities with direct rivals like Inter.
