Juventus are considering a move for Sassuolo defender Tarik Muharemovic, with the club holding a 50% stake in any future resale profit, according to reports in Italy. The 20-year-old has emerged as a potential target for the Bianconeri as they search for a left-footed centre-back, though they face competition from Inter for his signature.
Juventus previously owned Muharemovic before his loan to Sassuolo, which included an obligation to buy upon Serie A promotion – a condition that was met last season. The transfer was initially valued at €1 million, meaning Juventus retain a significant share of any future sale. While the club’s failure to qualify for the Champions League has altered their transfer strategy, allowing for a more flexible approach to international experience, a move for Muharemovic still represents a viable option.
Sassuolo are reportedly seeking between €25 million and €30 million for the player, viewing him as a valuable asset. Inter have already expressed interest, but Juventus believe their existing relationship with Sassuolo, and a unique player dynamic, could give them an advantage. The clubs have a history of positive dealings, exemplified by the transfer of Manuel Locatelli in the past.
Crucially, Muharemovic shares a close friendship with Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz. Both players arrived at Juventus’ youth system on free transfers – Muharemovic from Wolfsberger in Austria and Yildiz from Bayern Munich – and quickly formed a strong bond. Juventus hope to leverage this connection to persuade Muharemovic to return to Turin and become a part of the club’s rebuilding project. The club intends to build their future around Yildiz, and the presence of a close friend could be a deciding factor for the defender. While other foreign clubs may enter the race, Juventus are confident that they can present a compelling case for Muharemovic’s return.
