Juventus are in advanced negotiations to sign Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski on a free transfer this summer, according to reports from Italy and Spain. The 35-year-old Polish international is said to view a move to Turin as his most appealing option should he leave Catalonia, with his agent, Pini Zahavi, having already held a positive preliminary meeting with the Serie A club's hierarchy. The proposed deal would see Lewandowski sign a one-year contract worth a base salary of 6 million euros, supplemented by performance-related bonuses.
Lewandowski's potential departure from Barcelona has become increasingly likely as the club is not prepared to revise a recent contract renewal offer that would see his wages significantly reduced. His current deal expires in 2025, but a clause allows him to leave for free this summer if certain conditions are met, putting him on the cusp of the market. Zahavi was spotted in the stands for the recent Milan-Juventus match at San Siro, a visit sources indicate was primarily to advance talks with the Bianconeri.
The move is reportedly a key objective for Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti, who is keen to add a proven, high-profile striker to his squad as the club aims to return to competing for the Serie A title and make a deeper run in the Champions League. For Lewandowski, the primary condition for any transfer is that his new club is in Europe's premier competition, a status Juventus are close to securing for next season. The veteran forward has scored 17 goals across all competitions for Barcelona this season, demonstrating he retains a potent threat despite his age.
While AC Milan had also shown interest, their focus is understood to have shifted elsewhere, potentially towards Alexander Sorloth. However, Juventus faces competition from lucrative offers outside of Europe, with clubs in Saudi Arabia and MLS side Chicago Fire reportedly prepared to offer significantly higher wages. The Polish striker is said to be willing to accept a lower financial package for the opportunity of a final major challenge at a European elite club.
The finalization of any agreement is expected to wait until Juventus mathematically secures Champions League qualification, which is anticipated in the coming weeks. In the meantime, the club is also maintaining a secondary option in the event the Lewandowski deal falls through, with a continued interest in Paris Saint-Germain's Randal Kolo Muani, who is returning from a loan spell at Tottenham.
