Juventus players began gathering at the Continassa training ground this morning, marking the start of a new era under manager Luciano Spalletti, though the squad remains largely unchanged as the transfer window progresses.
Spalletti, who was anticipating a more bolstered roster at this stage of the summer, will oversee training with the 29 players currently available. The club is reportedly working to navigate a challenging transfer market, attempting to extract value from players who may not feature prominently in the team’s future plans. While club officials Massara and Carnevali continue to pursue potential deals, the immediate focus shifts to preparation on the pitch.
The list of players convened includes several individuals whose futures at the club are uncertain. This includes players like Rouhi, who has attracted interest from Serie B clubs, and Arthur, linked with a move to Besiktas. The club is also in discussions regarding the potential departure of Milik. Cabal, who previously rejected a transfer to Genoa as part of a deal for Ekhator, and Zhegrova are also present, as are Openda and Miretti, all of whom are understood to be aware of their peripheral roles.
Juventus is currently facing logistical challenges due to the large number of players present, even requiring some staff and youth players to be accommodated in rooms typically reserved for guests. These players will have the opportunity to discuss their positions with the technical staff and club management in the coming week.
Spalletti will also assess several promising players from the Juventus Next Gen squad. Mangiapoco, Van Aarle, Durmisi, Oboavwoduo, Owusu, and Gil have all been called up to train with the first team. Pedro Felipe, recently returning from a loan spell at Sassuolo, is also among those present. The gathering follows a team dinner organized by the club, and marks the official start of pre-season, with Jeff Ekhator currently the only new arrival generating significant attention.
