Juventus reportedly showed interest in Lille midfielder Adam Bouaddi last year, according to reports in Italy. The 16-year-old Moroccan international has recently impressed in a friendly match against Brazil, showcasing a maturity and technical ability beyond his years.
Bouaddi has quickly become a key figure for Lille, having previously played in the youth ranks in France before switching allegiance to Morocco. His performance against Brazil, where he completed 86 passes with 91% accuracy, 6 recoveries, and 4 tackles, drew comparisons to Sergio Busquets and earned widespread praise. He effectively controlled the midfield against a strong Brazilian side featuring Casemiro, Guimaraes, and Paquetá.
Juventus had previously enquired about Bouaddi while negotiating the transfer of Edon Zhegrova from Lille. However, Lille resisted the approach and subsequently extended Bouaddi’s contract until 2029, a move designed to increase his market value. The club is now believed to value the player around €50 million.
Bouaddi is also a finalist for the prestigious Golden Boy award, indicating his rising profile within European football. Scouts from several English clubs have reportedly been monitoring his progress. While a transfer to Juventus was potentially feasible last year, his recent performances and extended contract make a deal considerably more difficult now. The increased exposure from the recent international match is also likely to attract further interest and inflate his price tag.
His standout performance against Brazil has undoubtedly increased his profile, potentially opening doors to opportunities at even larger clubs.
