Juventus are in advanced talks to sign free agent Franck Kessié, according to reports in Italy. The club is reportedly working to lower the demands of the midfielder’s representatives, moving from an initial request of €7 million to a figure just below €6 million. The potential deal aligns with Juventus’ strategy of adding physicality and presence to their midfield.
Kessié is currently a free agent, having recently departed Al Ahli. The Ivorian international previously spent time in Serie A with AC Milan, establishing himself as a key player before his move to Saudi Arabia. His experience in the league and proven ability would make him a valuable addition to Massimiliano Allegri’s squad.
Jeremie Boga, a current Juventus player, expressed his positive opinion of Kessié, stating he would be happy to play alongside his compatriot. Boga noted that while they haven’t spoken recently, he considers Kessié both a good player and a good person. Boga also highlighted his own positive feelings about remaining with Juventus after securing his permanent transfer.
Boga emphasized his commitment to adapting to various roles within the team, stating his willingness to play on either flank or in a central position. He also expressed optimism about the team’s progress following their Serie A opener against Basel, despite acknowledging they are not yet at peak physical condition. Boga scored four goals in half a season and is focused on improving his contributions with both goals and assists.
Juventus finished outside of the Champions League qualification spots last season, a result that was met with disappointment within the club. The acquisition of Kessié, alongside Boga’s continued development, could bolster their chances of returning to Europe’s elite competition. The club is aiming to build on their current squad and compete for top honors in the upcoming season.
