Juventus are in advanced talks to sign midfielder Franck Kessié, who is currently a free agent after leaving Al Ahli, according to reports in Italy. The Turin club have been pursuing the Ivorian international for some time, and negotiations are now focused on reaching an agreement on salary demands.
Initial requests from Kessié’s representatives were reported to be around €7 million per season, but Juventus are aiming to secure his signature for slightly under €6 million. Sources suggest that progress is being made and a deal could be finalized soon. Kessié’s arrival would add further strength to Juventus’ midfield options.
Kessié previously played in Serie A for AC Milan, becoming a key player during his five seasons with the Rossoneri. He made over 200 appearances for the club, demonstrating his ability to contribute both defensively and offensively. Following his departure from Milan, he joined Barcelona, but his time at the Camp Nou was relatively short-lived before a move to Saudi Arabia.
Jeremie Boga, who recently joined Juventus permanently, expressed his positive feelings about the potential arrival of his fellow countryman. Boga stated that he hadn’t spoken to Kessié recently, but praised him as a “good player and a very good person,” adding that he would welcome anyone who strengthens the team. Boga also highlighted his own positive adaptation to the club following his return to competitive action.
Boga emphasized the team’s determination to improve upon last season’s disappointing failure to qualify for the Champions League. He noted that the team is physically building its fitness but demonstrated good play in their recent match against Basel, and is focused on continuous improvement. Kessié’s addition would bolster Juventus’ squad as they aim to compete at the highest level both domestically and in Europe.
