Juventus are in advanced talks with Paris Saint-Germain regarding a loan deal for forward Randal Kolo Muani, according to reports in Italy. The potential move represents a reconciliation between the two clubs following a failed transfer attempt for the player last summer, which ultimately led to Juventus signing Lois Openda.
Negotiations have been progressing positively since the appointment of Giovanni Carnevali as Juventus’s new transfer representative, a move welcomed by PSG officials. The breakdown in relations between the clubs had stalled discussions on other potential transfers, but the arrival of Carnevali has facilitated a renewed dialogue. PSG are reportedly eager to finalize a deal, even offering a loan with a conditional option to buy.
Kolo Muani, 27, is keen to return to Juventus after a disappointing spell at Tottenham Hotspur. He previously attracted interest from the Turin club, and is reportedly highly regarded by coach Luciano Spalletti, who has refrained from publicly discussing the player to avoid raising his expectations prematurely. Spalletti hopes to have Kolo Muani available for the start of pre-season on July 13th.
The proposed loan agreement includes a conditional purchase option, with Juventus hoping to negotiate a fee below the €40 million initially requested by PSG. The Italian club believe Kolo Muani’s recent inconsistent form warrants a lower valuation, considering his previous successful performances in Serie A. Discussions are ongoing, with Juventus aiming for a final fee in the range of €33-35 million.
Alongside Kolo Muani, the clubs have also discussed the possibility of a transfer for midfielder Khéphren Thuram, who is of interest to PSG’s sporting director Campos. Juventus value Thuram at approximately €40 million. The potential arrival of Kolo Muani is further complicated by Juventus’s need to generate funds through player sales, particularly in light of missing out on Champions League qualification. The player is believed to have agreed to a five-year contract with an annual salary of approximately €5 million.
