Juventus have completed the signing of Louis Reynaud, a young central defender from French club Toulouse, the club confirmed. The 2008-born player joins Juventus’ Primavera youth setup on a long-term contract that runs until June 30, 2030. The transfer aligns with Juventus’ strategy of investing in promising international talent for long-term development.
Reynaud developed through the Toulouse academy and has been identified by Juventus’ scouting department for his technical attributes and potential. The operation was coordinated by Juventus staff members Scaglia and Claudio Chiellini, indicating a focused effort to secure the player’s signature. Juventus intends to integrate Reynaud gradually into their development pathway, starting with the Primavera squad coached by Padoin.
The plan involves a period of acclimatization before potentially progressing to the Next Gen team under Brambilla’s guidance. The club aims to nurture his defensive qualities and adapt him to Italian football with consistent playing time. Juventus views Reynaud as a significant technical and strategic investment for the medium to long term, hoping he will become a key part of their defensive line in the future.
The transfer was facilitated by a standstill in contract negotiations between Reynaud and Toulouse, as the French club had not yet finalized his first professional contract. Juventus capitalized on this situation, presenting a compelling sporting project at their Vinovo training center. While Toulouse reportedly regret losing a promising talent, Juventus consider the acquisition a continuation of their commitment to youth development and building for the future. This signing reinforces Juventus’ “green line” – their focus on developing young players.
