Juventus are turning their attention to Real Madrid’s Brahim Diaz as an alternative to their pursuit of Bernardo Silva, according to reports in Italy. Negotiations between Juventus and Real Madrid are expected to begin within the next ten days, with both clubs seeking to address their respective needs for improvement.
The Bianconeri are aiming to regain competitiveness in Serie A, while Real Madrid are looking to rebound from a disappointing season both on and off the pitch. The potential deal could also benefit Barcelona, though the specifics of that connection were not detailed.
Silva has proven a difficult target due to the financial demands and strong competition for his signature, with the Portuguese international reportedly unimpressed by offers from leagues perceived as less technically demanding, such as the MLS and Saudi Pro League. This has prompted Juventus officials, Comolli and Ottolini, to focus on Diaz as a more attainable option.
Diaz, who will turn 27 in August, is a fully developed player with international experience and is familiar with Italian football from his two seasons with AC Milan. He is reportedly eager to secure a more prominent role than he currently enjoys at the Bernabeu. His affection for Italy, stemming from his time in Milan, is seen as a positive factor for Juventus.
Diaz’s contract with Real Madrid currently runs until June 2027, having previously discussed an extension to 2030 which was never finalized. This situation presents an opportunity for Juventus, as Real Madrid may be compelled to sell this summer to recoup a transfer fee.
Discussions between the clubs will also include Gonzalo Garcia, a promising young attacker, though he is considered less immediately impactful than Diaz. A loan with a potential repurchase clause, similar to the arrangement previously used with Alvaro Morata, is being considered for Garcia. Real Madrid are also reportedly interested in Juventus’ Kenan Yildiz, potentially seeking a future agreement for a preferential option to sign the 2005-born player, despite his recent contract renewal with the Turin club.
