Juventus are prioritizing attacking reinforcements ahead of next season, with the future of Dusan Vlahovic uncertain as his contract nears its expiration. The club is reportedly seeking a physically imposing forward, a characteristic specifically requested by manager Massimiliano Spalletti. Several players are under consideration, and Joaquin Panichelli of Strasbourg has emerged as a key target.
Panichelli, born in Cordoba, Argentina in 2002, has quickly become one of the standout performers in Ligue 1. After developing through the youth systems of Belgrano, Racing Avellaneda, and River Plate without establishing himself in Argentina’s top flight, he found success in Spain with Mirandes and Alaves. His performances attracted the attention of Strasbourg, who signed him for approximately €16 million in the summer of 2025. He immediately became a pivotal player for the Alsatian club.
The 23-year-old is a modern center-forward, standing at 190 centimeters tall. He combines physical strength with mobility and technical ability. Panichelli’s style is often compared to Julian Alvarez, though he is described as a more traditional, self-sufficient striker. He excels in aerial duels and possesses a clean technique that allows him to link up effectively with teammates. This season, he has scored 20 goals across all competitions, including a memorable brace against Paris Saint-Germain in a 3-3 draw.
Despite a recent injury sustained while on international duty with Argentina, Panichelli’s impressive goal-scoring record has drawn the attention of several European clubs. Juventus’ interest reflects their need for a reliable goalscorer and a player who fits Spalletti’s tactical preferences. Securing a striker of Panichelli’s caliber would address a critical area of need for the Bianconeri as they aim to solidify their position in Serie A and compete in the Champions League.
