- FC Köln are considering a loan move for Manchester City winger Reigan Heskey, according to Geissblog, a publication focused on the Bundesliga club. The potential move comes after Köln recently turned the loan deal of Jahmai Simpson-Pusey into a permanent transfer, signalling a continued willingness to recruit from the Premier League champions.
Heskey, 18, currently features for Manchester City’s U21 team and is the son of former England striker Emile Heskey. He made his senior debut for City in the EFL Cup last season and has been named in several Premier League squads, though he is yet to make a league appearance. The winger’s inclusion in Pep Guardiola’s matchday selections suggests a degree of promise within the City setup.
Last season, Heskey demonstrated impressive form for Manchester City’s youth side, registering seven goals and seven assists in 19 appearances. This output has reportedly caught the attention of Köln, who are seeking to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign. No agreement between the two clubs has yet been reached, but the German side view Heskey as a potential candidate.
Köln finished seventh in the Bundesliga last season, securing a spot in the Europa Conference League qualifying rounds. Strengthening their attacking line will be crucial as they navigate both domestic and European commitments. A loan move for Heskey would provide the young player with valuable first-team experience in a competitive European league, potentially accelerating his development. Should the move materialize, it would offer Köln a dynamic attacking option with a proven track record at youth level.
