Juventus have reached an agreement to sign promising young forward Tegra Bolongo from Lausanne Sport, according to reports in Italy. The 2010-born Swiss youth international will undergo medical examinations with the Turin club in the coming days. While he won’t be able to sign a professional contract until he turns 16 in September, Juventus have moved quickly to secure his services.
Bolongo, who has Congolese heritage, was available on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Lausanne Sport. Several top European clubs were monitoring the player’s situation, but Juventus ultimately prevailed, beating out strong interest from Inter, who were reportedly close to completing a deal for the striker. The Bianconeri have prioritized developing young talent alongside strengthening the first team under manager Luciano Spalletti.
Standing at 194cm, Bolongo is described as a modern striker with a strong physical presence and a left foot. Despite not being exceptionally quick, he possesses excellent technique and ball control, allowing him to beat defenders and score from distance with precision. Reports indicate he is also clinical in front of goal and effective at holding up play, linking up with teammates.
Last season, Bolongo impressed for Lausanne Sport’s youth setup, scoring 14 goals in the Swiss U16 Elite league. He has also represented Switzerland at the U16 level, earning two caps. Juventus are expected to initially integrate Bolongo into their U17 squad, where he will be further assessed and developed. The club will then evaluate his potential to progress through the youth ranks quickly.
