Juventus are continuing to monitor Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson with a view to a potential transfer, according to reports in Italy. The Turin club are seeking a high-profile addition in goal for new manager Luciano Spalletti, following a disappointing season for current keeper Wladimiro Falcone. However, Liverpool have yet to indicate their willingness to sell the Brazilian international.
Alisson has reportedly held discussions with Spalletti and is receptive to a move to Juventus, with a basic agreement already in place regarding salary and contract length. The deal is complicated by the fact that new Liverpool manager Arne Slot is currently unconvinced about sanctioning Alisson’s departure, despite the presence of Giorgi Mamardashvili as an alternative option.
Should Liverpool block a move for Alisson, Juventus have identified several alternative targets. Experienced options include David De Gea, currently at Fiorentina, and Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez, both of whom have proven track records of success. De Gea, a former Manchester United player, is reportedly available as Fiorentina consider options in goal, and Juventus are closely following his situation.
Alexander Nübel, currently on loan at Stuttgart from Bayern Munich, is also being considered. While younger than De Gea and Martinez, Nübel has less experience at the highest level, a potential concern for a club with Juventus’ ambitions. Nübel’s limited opportunities at Bayern, where he is behind Manuel Neuer, could make him available for around €15 million.
De Gea, six years older than Nübel, brings a significant trophy cabinet, including a Premier League title, FA Cup, and two League Cups with Manchester United. He also has two Europa League titles to his name, with Atletico Madrid and United, a competition Juventus will participate in next season. His potential cost is estimated between €3-4 million. Martinez, fresh off an Europa League win with Aston Villa, is valued around €15 million and has also won the FA Cup and Community Shield with Arsenal. He gained prominence for his role in Argentina’s World Cup victory, notably saving a penalty against former Juventus player Kolo Muani. However, his focus is currently on the upcoming tournament, potentially delaying any transfer discussions.
