Juventus are prioritizing the acquisition of Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, while simultaneously seeking to offload Jonathan David, according to reports from TuttoSport. The potential deal for Kolo Muani appears to be progressing well, with the player already giving his approval to the move, including the financial terms and contract duration.
Negotiations between Juventus and PSG have reportedly been smoothed in recent months, leading to a more collaborative environment for potential transfers. PSG are currently asking for €40 million for Kolo Muani, but are now more open to structuring the deal with bonuses than they were previously. Juventus are hoping to fund the move through the sale of David, who they value at €35 million.
Kolo Muani is eager to return to Turin, where he previously enjoyed a successful spell, scoring 10 goals including in the Club World Cup. He felt valued and integral to the project during his prior time with the club, and a reunion with former teammates is a significant draw. Juventus manager Luciano Spalletti, despite not being the coach during Kolo Muani’s previous stint, has studied his potential impact and believes he can address several attacking issues within the squad.
The timeline for these moves is a key concern for Juventus. While they hope to finalize the Kolo Muani deal in the coming weeks, they are wary of the situation repeating itself from last summer, when Kolo Muani waited for Juventus until late in the transfer window and almost joined Tottenham Hotspur. Juventus are prepared to offer Kolo Muani a substantial contract to avoid a similar scenario, with wages comparable to those offered to David. The club intends to use the funds generated from David’s sale to also pursue other forward options, potentially re-opening talks for a player previously linked with a return from Tottenham.
