Juventus have given Dusan Vlahovic until Tuesday, June 30th, to decide on his future with the club, according to reports in Italy. The ultimatum comes after a meeting between Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali and manager Luciano Spalletti to discuss transfer strategy.
Vlahovic’s situation has been uncertain, with the club initially hoping for a resolution but now demanding a clear answer. Juventus offered the Serbian forward a short-term contract extension worth around €8 million, including bonuses, but his representatives have yet to respond. This offer was presented to the Vlahovic family as a potential path forward, but the lack of a response has prompted the club to take a firmer stance.
Spalletti had initially been a proponent of keeping Vlahovic, but has now aligned with the club’s position, recognizing the need for clarity in planning the team’s attack. While the manager initially favored retaining the player, the silence from Vlahovic’s camp has led him to reconsider. Juventus believe they need to be free to pursue other options, with Randal Kolo Muani identified as a potential target, though not a complete solution on his own.
Besiktas in Istanbul are reportedly leading the chase for Vlahovic, with a deal potentially worth around €30 million, including commissions, signing bonuses, and wages. There has been limited interest from other major European clubs, with Bayern Munich and Barcelona, clubs previously linked with a move, not currently pursuing the forward. Vlahovic joined Juventus in January 2022 from Fiorentina for a reported €70 million, and has scored 21 goals in 73 appearances for the Turin club.
