Juventus have set a valuation of €50 million for midfielder Khephren Thuram, according to reports in Italy. The figure has reportedly deterred initial interest from several Premier League clubs, including Newcastle United, Nottingham Forest, and Sunderland.
Thuram, who joined Juventus from Nice for around €20 million under the direction of Giovanni Giuntoli, has become a key player for the Turin club. Despite this, Juventus are prepared to sell to generate a significant profit, but are determined to avoid a bargain sale following their failure to qualify for the Champions League. The club’s sporting director, Carnevali, has reportedly established the €50 million figure as the minimum acceptable offer.
While Premier League clubs have shown initial interest, Thuram is reportedly keen on a move to Paris Saint-Germain. Discussions between Juventus and PSG are ongoing regarding a separate deal for Kolo Muani, and these conversations may influence the potential transfer of Thuram. PSG are also understood to be willing to meet the €50 million asking price.
Juventus coach Luciano Spalletti is reportedly happy to retain Thuram should he remain at the club, but acknowledges the need for the club to raise funds. Other players potentially set to leave Juventus include Teun Koopmeiners, who is valued at €30 million, and Andrea Cambiaso, with Inter Milan having recently held talks with his agent. Lois Openda may also depart on loan, with clubs from Ligue 1 and the Premier League expressing interest. The club is also finalizing the departures of Faticanti and Moruzzi to Avellino on loan deals with options to buy.
