Juventus and Roma are exploring a potential player exchange deal involving Evan Ndicka and Teun Koopmeiners, according to reports in Italy. While the idea is still in its early stages, both clubs see potential benefits in a swap.
Juventus are reportedly seeking a reliable left-footed centre-back to partner with Bremer, and Ndicka has emerged as a potential target. The club is prioritizing Bremer’s continued presence in Turin, viewing him as a key leader in the defense, but are looking for a suitable partner. Should Bremer become subject to a large offer, the club would consider alternative defensive profiles.
Ndicka currently plays for Roma, having joined the club in 2023 from Eintracht Frankfurt. He has a contract with the Giallorossi until 2028, but Roma are open to selling the Ivorian international for a reported fee of around €40 million. Several other clubs, including Barcelona, have also expressed interest in the defender. Ndicka’s familiarity with Serie A and manageable wage demands make him an attractive investment for Juventus.
On the other side of the deal, Roma are interested in bringing Koopmeiners back to work under Gian Piero Gasperini, the coach who previously oversaw his best performances at Atalanta. Koopmeiners’ time at Juventus has been underwhelming, and a return to a familiar environment could revitalize his career. Roma have received proposals from Turkish clubs, but the prospect of reuniting with Gasperini is reportedly more appealing to the player. A move would also allow Juventus to avoid a financial loss on a transfer that has not met expectations.
Juventus are navigating a complex summer transfer window and need to balance their financial constraints with their squad needs. This potential swap could address both clubs’ priorities, providing Juventus with a needed defender and Roma with a proven midfielder.
