Noa Lang is set to return to Napoli following his loan spell at Galatasaray, with his father, Jeffrey Lang, stating the player is keen to succeed in Naples. The update comes from an interview with De Telegraaf, as reported by Calcio Napoli 1926.
Lang initially joined Napoli in January 2023, signing a contract until June 2027, but was immediately loaned to Galatasaray as part of the deal that saw Tanguy Ndombélé move in the opposite direction. He enjoyed a productive spell in Turkey, contributing significantly to Galatasaray’s league title win. However, his father's comments indicate a strong desire to make an impact with Napoli themselves.
Jeffrey Lang acknowledged the competition for places in the Netherlands national team, referencing Cody Gakpo’s current form, but emphasized Noa’s readiness to seize any opportunity presented to him, starting with training. The focus, however, remains firmly on establishing himself at club level. The player’s father stated, “Noa in any case can’t wait [to return]. He wants to succeed there.”
Napoli are currently undergoing a period of transition with the appointment of Antonio Conte as their new manager. Conte is known for his tactical rigidity and demanding training regimes, and Lang will likely face a challenge to earn a regular starting position. The club finished tenth in Serie A last season, a significant downturn from their title-winning campaign the previous year, and Conte’s arrival signals an intent to rebuild and restore the team to its former glory.
Lang, a 24-year-old winger, has previously played for Ajax and Club Brugge. He is known for his dribbling skills, pace, and ability to create chances. His return to Napoli provides Conte with another attacking option as he reshapes the squad. The loan move to Galatasaray proved beneficial in providing consistent game time, and Lang will hope to carry that form back to Italy and finally make his mark at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona. His success could be key to Napoli’s ambitions to climb back up the Serie A table.
