Arsenal have expressed strong interest in signing Bradley Barcola from Paris Saint-Germain this summer, with the player potentially available after failing to fully establish himself in the French capital. Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reports that a summer transfer for the 23-year-old is now considered ‘possible’ as he remains unconvinced about his long-term future at PSG.
Barcola joined PSG from Lyon in 2023 for a reported €45 million and has made 45 appearances this season, though only 22 of those were starts. Despite consistent involvement, the winger’s position in the team has been uncertain, particularly following the January arrival of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. PSG had previously offered Barcola a new contract, but discussions stalled as the player sought assurances over playing time.
Last summer, Liverpool also showed interest in Barcola as an alternative to Alexander Isak, but PSG were firm in their stance that he would not be sold. This prompted Liverpool to ultimately pursue and sign Isak from Newcastle United for a Premier League record fee. However, the situation has shifted, with Barcola’s future now less certain.
Arsenal have reportedly made contact with Barcola’s representatives and are aware of his wage demands. They are among a number of clubs monitoring the situation, including Barcelona and Liverpool, who are also seeking to strengthen their attacking options. Barcelona are reportedly considering alternatives to Marcus Rashford, but may find Barcola’s price tag prohibitive. Liverpool, meanwhile, are looking for potential replacements for Mohamed Salah and an upgrade to Cody Gakpo.
Bayern Munich had previously expressed interest in Barcola, with director Max Eberl a known admirer, but have now turned their attention to Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon. Talks are underway with Newcastle, though the club is currently demanding a fee of up to €90 million, a figure Bayern are hesitant to meet. Barcola’s current Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) is €70.6 million, having risen since his move to PSG.
