Bayern Munich have registered their interest in Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli, according to a report from TEAMtalk. The German champions have reportedly made initial enquiries regarding the Brazilian’s potential availability this summer as they seek to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.
This move comes after Bayern’s pursuit of Anthony Gordon proved unsuccessful, with the England international opting for a transfer to FC Barcelona. Bayern are now exploring alternative targets, and Martinelli has emerged as a player of interest. Paris Saint-Germain are also reportedly monitoring the 24-year-old’s situation, potentially creating competition for his signature.
Martinelli enjoyed a productive 2025/26 campaign with Arsenal, scoring 11 goals and providing seven assists in 53 appearances across all competitions. He has become a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s squad since joining the Gunners from Ituano in 2019, consistently demonstrating his pace, dribbling ability, and eye for goal. He has established himself as a regular starter and a fan favourite at the Emirates Stadium.
Bayern Munich are undergoing a period of transition following the departure of several key players, and strengthening their attack is a priority. The club is looking for dynamic and versatile forwards who can contribute goals and assists, and Martinelli fits that profile. Simultaneously, Arsenal may face difficult decisions regarding squad depth and potential sales to fund their own transfer ambitions.
Alongside their interest in Martinelli, Bayern are also pursuing PSV Eindhoven’s Ismael Saibari, with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reporting that discussions have already commenced regarding a potential deal for the Moroccan international. This suggests that Bayern are exploring multiple options to reinforce their attacking line before the start of the next Bundesliga season. Securing either Martinelli or Saibari would provide Bayern with added firepower and tactical flexibility.
