Le Mans, recently promoted to Ligue 1, have announced the signing of left-back Yasser Larouci on a free transfer. The 24-year-old joins the club after his contract with Troyes expired, following a loan spell with Greek Super League side Kifisia last season. Larouci has signed a contract with Le Mans that runs until 2029, the club confirmed on Tuesday.
Larouci’s arrival is intended to strengthen the left side of Patrick Videira’s team as they prepare for their return to the French top flight. His experience is expected to be valuable to a Le Mans squad largely unfamiliar with Ligue 1 competition. The player brings a total of 42 Ligue 1 appearances and 11 Premier League games to the team, having previously played for Troyes and Liverpool.
Born in El Oued, Algeria, Larouci began his professional career with Liverpool, progressing through their academy before making a handful of first-team appearances. He joined Troyes in 2021, establishing himself as a regular in their squad over the following seasons. He has also represented Algeria at international level, earning three senior caps.
Larouci’s loan spell at Kifisia saw him gain further playing time, though he was unable to prevent the club from being relegated. Le Mans will hope he can recapture the form he showed during his time at Troyes and provide a reliable option at left-back. He becomes the third signing for Le Mans this transfer window, joining Louis Mafouta and Billal Brahimi as new additions to the squad, signalling an ambitious approach to their first season back in Ligue 1. The signing addresses a clear need for depth and quality in the defensive line as the club prepares for a challenging campaign.
