Paris Saint-Germain are prepared to consider offers for winger Bradley Barcola this summer despite manager Luis Enrique’s desire to retain him, according to reports in L’Équipe. The 23-year-old has two years remaining on his current contract at the Parc des Princes, but negotiations over an extension have stalled.
Discussions between the club and Barcola’s agent, Moussa Sissoko – who also represents Ousmane Dembélé – took place last week with sporting director Luis Campos. While club officials, including president Nasser Al-Khelaïfi and Enrique, are highly complimentary of Barcola’s abilities, PSG are unwilling to keep players who are not fully committed to the project. A source within the club stated that if a player expresses a desire to leave, a solution will be sought.
Barcola is reportedly seeking assurances of more regular playing time in significant matches, something Paris cannot currently guarantee. A conversation between Enrique and the player is planned to address these concerns, but a breakthrough is not expected before the conclusion of the European Championship. PSG have a history of not retaining players who are unwilling to extend their contracts, particularly when those deals enter their final two years.
Ousmane Dembélé’s situation is viewed differently. While also with two years left on his contract, negotiations for a renewal with Dembélé are progressing positively, although no agreement has yet been reached. The primary obstacle remains financial, with Dembélé seeking a salary increase commensurate with what he could earn elsewhere at this stage of his career. PSG, however, are maintaining a strict wage structure and are hesitant to make significant exceptions. Dembélé, 29, is expected to secure one of the final major contracts of his career and is understandably seeking a substantial raise from his current estimated €1.5 million monthly gross salary.
Barcola joined PSG from Lyon last summer and quickly established himself as a promising talent, making 30 appearances across all competitions. His departure would represent a loss of depth for Enrique’s squad, but the club appear willing to prioritize players fully invested in their long-term vision.
