Real Madrid President Florentino Perez is reportedly targeting three players should he win re-election next Sunday, according to Cadena Cope. The potential signings would focus on strengthening the centre-back, central midfield, and full-back positions, as identified by incoming manager Jose Mourinho.
Jose Mourinho is widely expected to take over as Real Madrid manager, having reportedly already signed a contract to replace Alvaro Arbeloa, regardless of the election outcome. Perez’s plans involve re-signing Victor Munoz from Osasuna, utilising an existing €8 million buyback clause for the former academy player. Munoz was sold to Osasuna last summer and has been developing his game in La Liga.
In addition to Munoz, Perez is also considering a move for Inter defender Alessandro Bastoni. Bastoni has been previously linked with Barcelona, but Hansi Flick reportedly had reservations about his suitability for the Catalan side, leading to a pause in negotiations. The Italian international would add further quality to Real Madrid’s defensive options.
The most ambitious target is Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Joao Neves. While Vitinha has previously been mentioned as a dream signing for Real Madrid, Neves is now considered a more realistic and impactful addition to the squad. Securing Neves would represent a significant coup for Los Blancos.
Mourinho will also face the challenge of integrating Vinicius Junior and Kylian Mbappe effectively into the attack. The pair have struggled to consistently perform together over the past two seasons, and finding a tactical balance that maximizes their potential will be a key priority for the Portuguese manager. The forward line presents a significant puzzle for the incoming coach.
These potential signings signal Perez’s intent to invest in the squad and maintain Real Madrid’s position as a European powerhouse, while Mourinho’s arrival promises a tactical overhaul and a renewed focus on defensive solidity.
