The proposed transfer of Ederson from Atalanta to Manchester United is currently in jeopardy following concerns raised during the player’s medical examination, according to reports from the British club. The midfielder, who had previously agreed to a five-year contract worth €5 million per season, was expected to complete a €45 million move to Old Trafford after Atalanta accepted an offer in May.
However, issues with Ederson’s meniscus, revealed during medical tests, have cast doubt over the deal. While Atalanta have denied any underlying physical problems contributing to the stalled negotiations, the transfer is now on hold and faces the possibility of collapse. The situation leaves Manchester United reassessing their options in midfield ahead of the new season.
Elsewhere in Italy, Napoli have secured the signing of Argentinian winger Exequiel Zeballos on a contract until 2031, despite interest from CSKA Moscow, who reportedly offered Boca Juniors €15 million for the player. Zeballos reportedly preferred a move to Naples. Napoli are also considering Wladimiro Falcone of Lecce as a potential replacement for Milinkovic Savic, who is attracting interest from Hull City.
Como are progressing in their pursuit of Davinson Sanchez, having offered Galatasaray €25 million for the Colombian centre-back. Cagliari are also active in the transfer market, targeting Mattia Esposito from Sorrento, as well as Daniel Maldini of Atalanta and Strefezza of Olympiacos to bolster their attacking options. Frosinone have secured the return of Fini, Cittadini, and Calvani on loan deals and are in talks with Napoli for Hasa and Zerbin. Roma are pursuing Diego Moreira from Strasbourg for a reported €40 million, while Fiorentina’s Gosens may return to Germany with Schalke or Werder Bremen.
Udinese are interested in Bondo from Milan and Diawara from Troyes, while Montipò is expected to join Monza. Lazio are awaiting a response from Dinamo Zagreb regarding Sergi Dominguez, and Venezia are pursuing Adams from Sevilla and Scuffet from Pisa.
