Werder Bremen have confirmed the signing of Kenny Quetant from French Ligue 1 side Le Havre on a free transfer. The 19-year-old attacker will join the Bundesliga club ahead of the 2026-27 season, becoming the team’s first acquisition for the upcoming campaign.
Quetant progressed through the youth ranks at Le Havre, making his senior debut in December of last year. The Paris-born forward has made a total of 10 appearances for the club, scoring once in a Ligue 1 match against Angers earlier this year. His most recent appearance for Le Havre came in mid-March, as the club battles to maintain its position in the French top flight.
Werder Bremen’s head of professional football, Peter Niemeyer, expressed the club’s delight at securing Quetant’s signature. “We’re really pleased that Kenny Quetant, a young and highly talented player with real potential, has chosen to join Werder Bremen,” Niemeyer stated. The move represents a clear investment in the club’s future attacking options.
Head coach Daniel Thioune also welcomed the arrival of the French youngster. “Kenny is a well-rounded, technically gifted striker with plenty of pace,” Thioune commented. “He has an exciting profile and gives us another attacking option for the future.” Thioune will be hoping Quetant can add a new dimension to Werder’s attack.
The player himself expressed his enthusiasm for the move to Germany. “Werder are a really interesting club, and I’m excited for my time in Bremen,” Quetant said after signing a long-term contract. “I want to be successful with the team and get as much playing time as possible. I’m also looking forward to playing at the Weserstadion.” At 1.89m tall, Quetant offers a physical presence as well as technical ability.
Werder Bremen will be looking to build a competitive squad as they aim to establish themselves firmly in the Bundesliga. The signing of Quetant, a promising young talent, signals the club’s intent to develop a dynamic and forward-thinking team.
